” I was born and raised in Cottonwood and I believe that it is important to pay it forward. I have been blessed with health and opportunity, and that’s not something we should take for granted. I believe we need to give back and volunteering gives me a chance to do that” said Nitosha Ritchie, Cottonwood branch manager, Wells Fargo when asked why she volunteers.
Nitosha is always willing to gather a group of volunteers from Wells Fargo to lend a hand. Last year, a team from Wells Fargo helped paint the home of one of our new homeowners, Rachel Hernandez; deliver invitations for our World Habitat Day event, and helped cleaned up our lot on Peach Lane in Uptown Sedona, for our next home build.
Nitosha first became involved with Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity about 4 years ago when she met Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity, Executive Director, Tania Simms. Nitosha really enjoyed her conversation with Tania and wanted to get involved with Verde Valley Habitat. Nitosha says, “it’s so much more than just building a house.”
Nitosha loves that Habitat for Humanity is a Christian Organization and that our Critical Home Repair Program, a home repair program that ensures our neighbors live in safe, decent homes and restores dignity and hope to the community, is helping so many people. She knows the homeowners being helped through this program, are really and truly in need, because Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity has a screening process for all their applicants to ensure they meet Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity income qualifications, need & willingness to partner.
Giving back to the community through volunteering is priceless. You can help us, help our community, by volunteering today.
