Habitat for Humanity developed this online donation service specifically to meet the needs of Habitat affiliates. Our Verde Valley local affiliate will receive every penny of donations paid by credit card via the Habitat for Humanity national web site, and designated to us. Donors will receive an email donation receipt within minutes, and the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate will receive any gift cards donors may wish to send to announce their donation.

Donate a Car to Cars for Homes - The Habitat for Humanity Car Donation Program

Car donations can help a family within your local community to build a house, and the hope of a better life!

By donating a car to The Habitat Cars for Homes™ Car Donation Program, you help Verde Valley build houses in partnership with families in need of decent, affordable shelter.

It is quick and easy to donate a car, truck, boat, RV, motorcycle, construction equipment or other vehicle — running or not! And when you donate your car, your vehicle donation may be eligible for tax deduction, if you itemize.  Consult the IRS or your tax adviser for details.

   Donations    

Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity relies on the good works, donations and generosity of local and regional businesses and suppliers to meet its material needs for each project. When we can't get outright donations of materials, we try to obtain materials at or below cost so that the price tag of the finished house is as low as possible.

Many local businesses are proud to associate their names with Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity. Our 'Carpenters Club' is designed to allow local, small businesses to participate and contribute to the Habitat for Humanity mission.  Members make monthly donations of $10 or more, thereby enabling Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity to maintain a cash flow that will better serve the community. 

 

For those persons and businesses interested in publicity, we are happy to include their names and contact information, as partners and/or donors, on our website. We also understand there are some who prefer to make donations anonymously, and we will respect their desire for privacy.  Please feel free to discuss these arrangements with us when you call (928) 649-6788.

Tax Deductions and Credits

 

Help Habitat, and Get a Charitable Tax Credit from the State of Arizona

Fall colors are here and the end of the year is just around the corner! Why not take advantage of our 2009 charitable tax credit for the working poor? Those who pay Arizona income tax can get a dollar-for-dollar tax credit up to $400 on a joint return, and $200 on a single return, for a charitable contribution made to a qualifying charitable organization. So, the money you would otherwise pay in taxes can benefit your neighbors instead!

 Thanks to the Arizona charitable tax credit law, state taxpayers now have more incentive to make cash donations to qualified charitable organizations like Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity, Inc. All contributions will receive a formal thank you letter, which will serve as a donation receipt for tax purposes. The Arizona Tax Credit program allows you to receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on your Arizona State Income Tax when you give to Verde Valley Habitat for Humanity, Inc, even if you’re already receiving a tax credit for a gift to a public or private school. Arizona allows three simultaneous tax credits, including one for organizations like Habitat that serve the working poor. For those filing a single tax return, your tax credit can be as much as $200; for those filing jointly the credit can be as much as $400.
